Hi Mei!! Going back to your videos again 😊 im not sure if i asked before but.... what if im a first timer to sell? Whats the healthy pricing? And if we charge lower how soon can we raise price??

My worry is that Facebook suppresses posts with outside links to even your followers. So even if I have over 100 followers, only like 5 or fewer people would see it. I just hate algorithms so much. I can't really advertise on Facebook, so that option is out. :/

I remember your "tiny hands" shop when I was selling miniature food jewelry myself (my shop was "petitplat"). It was pretty lucrative indeed, I got bored and turned to fine art, but money has never been much motivation for me, you're clearly a business woman above else :)

that last idea, tumblers, already seems oversaturated with cheap, low-effort options everywhere. there's the added issues of cheap or badly designed tumblers cracking easily or just not really being good for the environment due to overconsumption. I can't really get behind it :/

off topic but don’t you play Lyla Park in Life is Strange 2?

The things you mention about making videos for social media- this is what peeves me about some of the ones you see on YT. I'm talking about the videos where someone takes someone else's video, and all they do is put their own head over the screen and make comments about this other person's video. That is so egotistical and also quite lazy. They don't have to think up the content week after week; they have barely any videoing to do themselves; they don't have to research or check on the validity of the science behind whatever they're quoting or make items themselves or arrange music and rehearse for hours per day, etc, ad nauseum. AND the worst sin of all: many of them do not put a referral on their post or in the description to the original video or content creator. I doubt that YT pays people on a different rate according to how much work was done to make a video NOR to how correct the information is that's provided. It would be good if they did but they seem to only pay per views and for the percentage of time people watched that reel. (Correct me if I'm wrong here- I'm not a content creator or abuser myself so I only know what others have told me about YT monetisation.)

This is the best video I've seen so far on what it takes to run a small business and generate your own income. Most of all, I like that you are totally transparent about how much you make and how much each business idea takes out of your time and effort. I've been thinking about business ideas for years but can never seem to make up my mind about which one I am most passionate. Those youtubers who says they had made money online are true. They made money by making video clips not selling online. Once their viewers hit over 10k, youtubers will earned more. I never belived in what they taught. Selling online is not that easy.

Impressive combination of business! But people think acting isn't an art? And that it makes a lot of money? Wow naive.

I'd argue it does take art talent to make realistic miniature polymer clay food, even if it's not drawing. The other businesses are more using templates and marketing though. Great insights. I remember years ago that scented waffle necklace blowing up when it was used as a prop in a TV show and how it was from an Etsy shop, and now to see you're that person and have kept going and grown so much is so cool.
